Hemp Smoothie Recipe

Happy Monday Smoothie Lovers!

I have a new and exciting recipe for all my hemp lovers out there! For the past couple weeks, I have been researching and looking for new ideas for smoothies. I wanted to mix it up this week with something different. I have recently come across a new favourite of mine which are hemp products. I have incorporated hemp protein powder and hemp hearts into my smoothie recipe this week. I really like the hemp protein powder as opposed to other sweetened protein powders because it is not as rich and overpowering as other protein powders. This week’s smoothie recipe is made of spinach, blackberries, peach, mango, strawberries, hemp protein powder, hemp hearts, vanilla yogurt, and water.

This hemp smoothie is a delicious and nutritious recipe! I have incorporated many different ingredients which make this smoothie recipe fantastic. When I blended this together, the prominent tasting ingredients are the mango, peach and hemp protein powder. The hemp powder is an acquired taste in my opinion so if you are trying it for the first time, I suggest that you put in one tablespoon at first and add accordingly. For those of you who may not like hemp protein powder, you can exclude that ingredient and still have an amazingly, tasty smoothie! I hope you enjoy this hemp smoothie recipe just as much as I did!

Enjoy!

Recipe:
2 handfuls of spinach
1 handful of blackberries
2 cups of frozen fruit: peaches, mango, strawberries
2 tablespoons of hemp protein powder
1 tablespoon of hemp hearts
4 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt
200ml of water

Citrus Berry Smoothie Recipe

This Berry Citrus Smoothie was fantastic! I included vanilla yogurt, flaxseed, spinach, blackberries, lime and avocado in this smoothie recipe. I am a huge fan of lime and it was a very prominent flavour in this smoothie blend. Originally, I had added half a lime in my blend but reduced it to ¼ of a lime because it was too sour.
This blend isn’t as sweet as my other smoothies. Again, to add to the sweetness you can either add more blackberries or any other fruit. I tried out the avocado for the first time in my smoothies and I found it added a thicker, smoother texture, which I loved! Compared to my other recipes, this blend is very filling because of the yogurt and avocado. I wanted to try out the avocado because it isn’t a popular smoothie ingredient and I am so happy I did!
This smoothie is a great option for a breakfast substitute or snack in between meals. It incorporates a great variety of healthy ingredients that will have you feeling your best! I hope you enjoy this smoothie blend just as much as I did. Do something good for yourself and indulge in this delicious smoothie! I have posted the recipe for you below. Make sure yousubscribe to my blog and let me know what you think!

Enjoy!

Recipe:
4 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt
2 handfuls of blackberries
1 big handful of spinach
1 tablespoon of flaxseed

Veggie Spin Smoothie Recipe

I am very excited about this Veggie Spin Smoothie recipe! The idea of lots of vegetables in a smoothie is a little unnerving because who wants to drink any type of vegetable juice? This blend I have created is beautifully balanced. I have put lots of vegetables into the smoothie but also added a cup and a half of frozen mixed berries and dragon fruit to counteract the taste of the vegetables. The Veggie Spin blend consists of dragon fruit, spinach, frozen mixed berries, red pepper, baby carrots and water.

This smoothie recipe is very nutritious and includes a variety of fruit and vegetables—you know what they say, eat foods of all colours! The red pepper, dragon fruit and mixed berries are the prominent tasting ingredients in this smoothie. The secret with this smoothie is, if you want less of the taste of red pepper or any other vegetable, add a couple more berries to counter act the taste. Adding stronger, sweeter fruit will take away the taste of the vegetables.

This was also my first time trying out dragon fruit. I have heard dragon fruit has many health benefits and wanted to try it out in this Veggie Spin Smoothie recipe. I found the dragon fruit had a bitter taste which was also evident in the smoothie.

Try this recipe for yourself and let me know what you think!

Recipe:
Half of a dragon fruit
1 big handful of spinach
Half of a red pepper
8 baby carrots
1 ½ cups of mixed berries
150 mL of water

Enjoy!

Tropical Punch Smoothie

Hello Everyone!

I have a new and exciting recipe for you! This tropical punch smoothie is something that will excite your taste buds! This blend will have you feeling fabulous and give you the energy you will need to start your day. This is by far one of my favorite recipes. This blend is sweet, despite its look. This smoothie tastes more like a tropical juice with the pineapple and the orange overpowering the flavours of the other ingredients.  This tropical punch blend consists of vanilla yogurt, spinach, an orange, mango, pineapple and flaxseed. This tropical punch smoothie will have you thinking about the beach!

This blend is very nutritious and incorporates all natural sugars. Smoothies are a great way to eat nutritious food on the go.  As I said on my previous post, it’s always good to incorporate vegetables into your smoothies for a wide variety of nutrients. Most times, the vegetables won’t be overpowering if you choose the right fruit which is also great for people who don’t like vegetables.

Try this Tropical Punch smoothie with a slice of toast for breakfast and it will give you the energy you need to start your day. Make sure you stay tuned for next week’s recipe! Enjoy your nutritious breakfast!

Recipe:
2/5 of a mango
1/8 of a pineapple
1 medium orange
4 table spoons vanilla yogurt
1 teaspoon flax seed
1 Handful of spinach leaves
100 mL of water

Vanilla Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

Vanilla Apple Cinnamon Smoothie

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today, I have whipped up a delicious smoothie! This delicious blend is a perfect breakfast or mid-day snack. The smoothie consists of apple, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, vanilla greek yogurt, and flaxseed. This nutritional blend is a great pick me up and will excite your taste buds!

I have incorporated vanilla greek yogurt because it is higher in protein than regular yogurt and will help you satisfy your hunger. It is important to always include a source of protein in order to satisfy hunger and help to avoid unhealthy snacking. I have also incorporated pure vanilla extract and cinnamon to enhance the flavour without any sugar or artificial sugar.  Make sure you are careful with the amount of cinnamon you put into your smoothie because it can make the smoothie very rich. Apples also contribute to the flavourful blend as they have many health benefits (make sure to include the peel). Flaxseeds are also included because they have great health benefits without jeopardizing flavour. Instead of reaching for the chip bag, try this!

Recipe:
1 Apple
½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
1 dash of ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons of Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1 teaspoon of flaxseed
100 mL of water
